Daniel Franklin Hobbs, Jr., 75, died April 5, 2005.
A native of Conecuh, Alabama, he was a son of the late Arie Bell and Daniel Franklin Hobbs, Sr. He was a longtime professor at the University of Georgia in the Department of Child and Family Development and was a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Mr. Hobbs was a member of Community of Christ Church in Dacula, GA and a vetran of the United States Navy.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 8, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Evangelist Julian Evans will officiate. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marge Hobbs; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Hobbs (Rob) Butler of The Woodlands, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas (Valerie) Hobbs of Jupiter, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mabel Hughes of Melbourne, FL, Edna Earle (Benny) Barnes of Century, FL, Marjorie Russell of Tallahassee, FL, and Margaret (Jerry) McArthur of Independence, MO; ten grandchildren; four nephews and their families.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
