Dan C. Evans, 60, died Monday, September 22, 2014.
A native of Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Wade C. Evans and Edna Bright Evans. Dan received his BS in Engineering from Clemson University, his Masters in Business Administration from Brenau University. He was currently employed by Athens Area Technical College and was Six Sigma Black Belt Certified in Lean Manufacturing. Dan was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church but has attended First Presbyterian Church of Athens. He was an avid hunter, hobby farmer and organic gardener.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Marie Fleeman Evans; sons and their wives: Travis (Lindsay Evans) Evans of Cumming, Tyler (Dr. Nicole Evans) Evans of Asheville; brother: David (Zana) Evans of Greenwood; nieces and a nephew; Lauryn Whitlock and Hannah and Isaac Evans.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:30PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with a reception to follow. Rev. David Evans, Dr. John Kipp and Dr. James Mooneyhan will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tuckston United Methodist Church or Calvary Chapel of Greenwood, SC.
