Dale Ellen (Pape) Seamon of Watkinsville, GA passed away on September 23, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer while surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA.
Born on October 6, 1948 in Washington, PA, she is the daughter of Helen Barbara Pape and the late John Anthony Pape. Dale is a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and California University of Pennsylvania, and received her Masters Degree from Duquesne University.
On August 19, 1972, she married David Paul Seamon; they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.
Dale spent the majority of her life residing in Canonsburg, PA, where she worked as an elementary school teacher in the Canon-McMillan School District. Upon retirement she moved with her husband, David, to Watkinsville, GA to be closer to their children and their spouses, Stephanie and Alexander Seth Cone and Cortney and William Michael DeLoach Jr., and granddaughters, Ella and Lauren. She enjoyed scrap booking, playing with her granddaughters, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, David Paul Seamon, her mother, Helen Barbara Pape, her sister, Janet Lynn Moeller, her daughters, Stephanie Anne (Seamon) Cone and Cortney Lynn (Seamon) DeLoach, and her granddaughters, Ella Grace DeLoach and Lauren Elizabeth DeLoach, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in Georgia at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home located at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart, GA, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00am, with visitation starting at 10:00am.
A mass and visitation are tentatively scheduled in Canonsburg, PA for Saturday, October 4, 2014.
