Dale Kidd, 57, passed away on March 2, 2022.
Dale was a lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County. He was the son of the late Odell Kidd and Martha Jean Waters and step-father Howard Waters, Jr., uncles, Gene Whitehead and Billy Ogle (whom he called his hero) (Ann), aunt Shirley Kidd, cousins, Bobbi Kidd Findley (Jack) and Tammy Kidd, Lorie Grimes (Dwayne), Hugh Ogle (Misty), special friends, Brian Langford, Tracy Smith, Timmy Lowe, Marcus Strong and many other relatives and friends.
Dale was a diabetic from the age of twelve, but he never let it prevent him from pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. He had been a volunteer firefighter for the Arnoldsville Fire Department and had been employed by the city of Elberton as a firefighter. He had the motto “Once a firefighter, always a firefighter.”
Dale will be laid to rest at Grove Chapel Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. alongside his grandparents, Howard and Lois Ogle and aunt, Helen Whitehead.
Dale is gone but will never be forgotten. Prior to his death, he had been in so much pain: and now we know he is in heaven and free of ALL pain. He was a true believer in Jesus Christ which gives his family much comfort in this time of so much grief.
We would like to personally thank Marcus Strong for all he did for Dale the past several months. He was truly a very caring friend.
We thank God for allowing us to have fifty-seven years with Dale. He was always his mother’s Pride and Joy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Grove Chapel Congregational Holiness Church, 130 Grove Chapel Church Road, Winterville, GA 30683.
