Cynthia Forbes

Cynthia Eileen Hayes Forbes, 95, of Stephens, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She was born on January 9, 1921. Mrs. Forbes was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Forbes Grocery for many years.

Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin M. Forbes, parents, Charlie Hayes and Lelia Hayes Hemphill; 5 brothers, Loy E Hayes, Joe B. Hayes, J. Tunney Hayes, Charlie J. Hayes and Douglas N. Hemphill and 2 sisters, Amelia H. Lindsay and Ruby H. Oliver.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Jeanette D Hemphill, and Ruth F Edwards; nieces and nephews, Vickie H. (Clay) Stevens, J. Tim (Allison) Hayes, Brenda H Wall, Jill H. Southers, Douglas "Fuzzy" Hemphill Jr, Eddie M. (Cathy) Lindsay, Joe Gene (Nina) Hayes, Jean Hayes, Faye O. Orr, Archie L. (Maryann) Hayes, Jack (Fran) Hayes, Jimmy Hayes, Terrell (Sharon) Hayes, Delores Elliott., a number of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Mask officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
