Curtis Darryl Riggins

Curtis Darryl Riggins, 76, of Watkinsville passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Born on October 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Curtis George Washington Riggins and Grace Walden Riggins.

Curtis spent 4 years in the Air Force, serving in Vietnam, and later went on to spend 6 years in the Navy Reserves. He was actively involved in Vet to Vet, an organization helping to increase mental health services in a peer-counseling capacity. He loved to fish and go to the beach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Karen Riggins; brother-in-law, Scott Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Riggins; children, Darryl Riggins, Jr., Brian Riggins, Kerry Riggins Roberts (Sidel), Michael Riggins; grandchildren, Dawson Riggins, Dixon Riggins, Wilkes Riggins, Rilye Riggins; sister, Mary Charlotte Riggins Bailey; nieces & nephews, Kim Smyth, Ben Bailey, Melissa Bailey, Colby Bailey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville. Interment will follow at a later date at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
