Winterville,GA - Curley David Nation, 88, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
A lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Sullie Nation. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his by his wife Mildred Hardy Nation and daughter, Martha Nation Berrong. He was one of eleven children. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII in India, Australia and Korea. Curley retired from The University of Georgia in 1982, was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Watkinsville, GA and enjoyed taking trips with the Antioch Fun and Travel Club.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Jeff Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his son: Kenneth and wife Carolyn Nation of Colbert, GA; stepdaughters: Shirley and husband Larry Anderson of Watkinsville, GA; stepson: David and wife Linda Landers of Denton, TX; brothers: Frank Nation and Claude Nation both of Oglethorpe County; sister: Minnie Robie of Tucker, GA; grandchildren: Wendi Berrong Taylor, Julie Glass, Jennifer Gabriel, Joshua Anderson, Amy Crawford, Jamie Bray, Mollie Ayers, Jason Jones, Jerry Jones, several great grandchildren, numerous special nieces and nephews and special friend, Annette Todd.
