Courtney Harris Spratlin

Courtney Barrow Spratlin, 87, died January 9, 2014.
A native of Winterville, GA, he was a son of the late Pope and Joyce Patton Spratlin. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Leatha Harris Spratlin and his son, Stace Barrow Spratlin of Dacula.
Mr. Spratlin was a member and deacon of Winterville First Baptist Church. He was a longtime Chairman of the Zoning Commission in Winterville, as well as a member of the Winterville City Council. Mr. Spratlin was a former District Governor with the Civitan Club and proudly served in the United States Navy.
Memorial services will be Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Winterville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Winterville Cemetery.
Survivors include four children, Zack Spratlin of Decatur, Shay Spratlin Craig of Dacula, Clissa Spratlin England of North Chesterfield, VA and Blayne Harris (Layne) Spratlin of Havelock, NC; brother, Eldredge "Gus" (Ruth) Spratlin of Athens; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, 1101 15th St., Augusta, GA 30901, Attention: Patient Benefits Fund - In Memory Of Courtney Spratlin.
