Constance Marchell Flynn

Constance Marchell Flynn, resident of Athens, GA, passed peacefully in her home in the company of her family on Thursday, December 21st, 2023. Connee was born on November 27th, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Alexander Marchell and Cornelia Mazurkiewiecz.

Connee attended art school and worked as a graphic designer with an advertising firm in Brooklyn until marrying Billy Eugene Flynn in 1961. They moved to Athens, GA in 1968 after Bill’s service of 23 years in the U.S. Marines Corp to raise their two sons.

Along with being a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Connee was an avid gardener, watercolorist, and print-maker. She was active with the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF), the Lydnon House Arts Center, and was a member at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Connee was predeceased by her husband, Bill, on December 11th, 2010. She is survived by her brother John Marchell and sister Eleanor Fabiszak and their families as well as her two sons and their families; Michael Flynn, wife Ellen, children Eric Flynn and Caroline Barnwell, and grandchildren Elijah and Andrew; and Tracy Flynn, wife Dana, and children Seth Ruji and Matia Miles.
