Connie Colquitt

Winterville - Connie Burt Colquitt, 68, died January 26, 2007.
Born in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late William Joel and Florrie Pearl Adkins Burt, and was preceded in death by a brother, Dolphus Burt. Mrs. Colquitt was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Her passion was her flower garden and watching the birds feed. She was a very giving person who loved people and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Billy J. Colquitt; children, Cathy (Zeb) Guest of Crawford, Bill (Kim) Colquitt of Carrollton, Joey (Wanda) Colquitt of Crawford, Burt (Suzanne) Colquitt of Nicholson and Lorrie (Marion) Hammes of Danielsville; sister, Florrie Burt Baughcum of Comer; brother, William H. Burt of Madison; sister-in-law, Mildred Burt of Winterville; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 29, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Akins and Rev. Jeff Lester officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Burt, Marion Hammes, Kenneth Bond, David Piatek, Gene Couch and Danny Gabriel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Winterville First Baptist Church.
