Coleman Whitehead

Robert Coleman Whitehead, 84, died January 24, 2015.
A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Lloyd S. and Veona Burger Whitehead. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Donald C. Boone and a great granddaughter, Catherine O'Barr.
Mr. Whitehead was former Deacon and Sunday school teacher and active member of Hull Baptist Church. For over forty-four years, he was a builder and developer in Clarke and surrounding counties.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Revs. Craig Snyder, Randy Crowe and Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 2:00 until 4:00pm at the Hull Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Boone Whitehead; children, Robert L. (Marti) Whitehead, Carol (Jerry) Simmons, Paula J. (Chester H.) McChesney, David S. (Holly) Whitehead, all of Madison County; sister, Mary Alice Canning of Athens; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one niece and several nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hull Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of choice.
