COL Ronnie Delane (RET) Alton

COL Ronnie Delane Alton (RET), 70, died December 1, 2014.
A native of Tifton, GA, he was a son of the late William D. and Frances Shaw Alton. Ron has lived in this area since 2006 when he moved here from Reynolds Plantation. He was of the Methodist faith.
Ron retired as Colonel from the United States Army in 1996 after twenty-nine years of service. He was a proud member of many associations including, Retired Officers, US Army Officer Candidate School, Industrial College Armed Forces, Military Police Regimented, American Association of Retired People, UGA Alumni, Georgia Southern Alumni, International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be Monday, December 8, 2014 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Judith J. Alton; two children, Jeffrey Delane Alton and Amber Lynn Alton; sister, Karen M. Paxson; two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Northside Bone Marrow and Transplant Program at Northside Hospital, ATTN: Monica Murdock 5670 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite 1000, Atlanta, GA 30342. (check memo "BMT Program).
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
