Comer - Clyde Lonnie Gentry, 91, husband of Helen Dean Gentry, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Elbert County, he was the son of the late Henry Grady and Marcie Foster Gentry, stepson to the late Beulah Hendrix Gentry. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Parham Gentry, two brothers, Roy and Bill Gentry and grandson, Keith Johnson. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Gentry was a farmer and electrician with IBEW Local Union 613.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Malcolm Gentry of Comer; daughter, Betty Jean Pitts of Hartwell; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 11AM at the Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Mike Sarna and Rev. Glenn Guest officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted.
