Clyde E. Adams, 88, of Colbert passed away Saturday, July 13. He was the son of the late Gordy and Ethel Adams of the Meadow Community in Madison County. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Manns, great-granddaughter Rachael Quinn Adams, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rachael, and 2 sons, Stephen (Elaine) and Terry, grandchildren Erin Kendall, Laura Brazie, Michael and Matt Adams, 7 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Edgar Manns (Susan), and 2 sisters.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II, he was employed by Rogers Hosiery Mill and retired for Westinghouse after many years of service. He was also an avid gardener.
The family wishes to thank Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospice nurses and staff for their loving care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM. Graveside services will be held at Colbert City Cemetery on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 2 PM with the Rev. Edgar Manns officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to Colbert First Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
