Clyas Crenshaw, 88, died August 12, 2011.
A native of Pendleton, SC, he was a son of the late Albert Hamilton and Nevada Black Crenshaw. Mr. Crenshaw graduated from Clemson College and retired from the USDA after twenty-one years. He then retired from Georgia Department of Agriculture in 1985. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of First United Methodist Church of Athens for over forty-eight years.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Athens. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Crenshaw; three children, Susan Crenshaw (George K.) Hill of Athens, Allen Hamilton Crenshaw of Crawford, George Howard Crenshaw of Athens; brother, Jesse B. Crenshaw of Greer, SC; three grandchildren, Tracy Brooke Crenshaw, George Kelly Hill, III, and Hayley Jane Crenshaw.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Athens, Hope Haven of Athens or a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home and from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.
