Cliftus Dwaine Welch

Cliftus Dwaine Welch, 59, died February 14, 2014.
A longtime resident of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of the late Jack and Mary F. Welch and was also preceded in death by his brother, Toby Welch; sisters, Betty Bray and Pansy Sloan. Mr. Welch was a poultry farmer and raised cows for many years. He also had worked for Wallace Graham Construction Company as well as Smith Seltzer and Sons.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Collier Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Boulder Creek Farms Family Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Irene Welch; children, Terri (Matthew) Patman, Cheryl (Freddie) Nash, Bobbie J. (Tommy) McLendon, Ray (Kathy) Alford, Tony Alford; eighteen grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Thressa (Jerry) Fowler, Elwanda Richardson of Erwin, TN; brother, Allen Welch; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Patman, Mason Patman, Matthew Patman, Freddie Nash, Micheal Ryan, Joey Richardson and Thomas Alford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Ogle, Randy Ogle, Ted Hughes, Tony Russell and Ray Sanders.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
