Watkinsville, GA - Cleveland G. Burns, 72, passed away November 26, 2007.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Cleveland G. and Susan Nicholson Burns. Mr. Burns served his country for twenty-one years in the United States Air Force and retired after twenty years of employment with Certainteed of Athens. Mr. Burns was an active member of Tuckston United Methodist Church for many years.
Memorial services will be Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 4:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Revs. Herb Owen and Wiley Carney officiating.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Margaret S. Burns; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Robert and Tammie Burns of Kennesaw, GA, Keith and Angela Burns of Colbert, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Darrell Kaniowski of Charlotte, NC, Vanessa and Danny Dixon of Watkinsville, GA; nine grandchildren, Shawn Burns, Leslie Burns, Erica Fortson, James Smith, Lisa Marie Phillips, Courtney Leigh Burns, Kelley Dixon, Karley Dixon, and Jennifer Kaniowski; five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Tuckston UMC, 4175 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605.
