Winterville - Claire G. Dimmock, 76, passed away March 5, 2009.
A native of England, she was the daughter of the late William and Doreen Palmer and the widow of Peter Dimmock.
In 1967, Mrs. Dimmock, her husband and daughter moved from England to Marietta, Ga., where he was a research engineer with Lockheed. Mrs. Dimmock was a librarian in Marietta for many years. In 1994, she retired to Lake Claire in Athens-Clarke County from Marietta. Mrs. Dimmock was a member of St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church and was an avid tennis player, gardener and cook. She is much loved and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Louise and James Louis Pinneau of Winterville; granddaughter, Anna Claire Pinneau.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Athens Area Humane Society.
