Christopher William "Chris" Welch

Christopher William Welch, 26, died August 17, 2011.
A native of Athens, GA, he was a son of Truth (George) Garrett of Findlay, Ohio and Bill (Wanda) Welch of Lakeland, FL. Chris was a well respected tree surgeon in this area for many years, most recently working for New Urban Forestry.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors in addition to his parents and step-parents include his fiance, Jennifer Salyers of Watkinsville; son, Collin Welch, daughter-to-be, Alyssa Welch; three sisters, Jordan Garrett, Breanna Garrett, both of Findlay, Ohio, and Erica Welch of Lakeland, FL; grandparents, Truett and Anita Abbott of Warrenton, GA, Mary Helen Coffee of St. Mary's, GA, Shirley J. Welch of Lincolton, GA, Alrena Garrett of Augusta, SC; multitude of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any First American Bank for a memorial fund to be established for Chris' children.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
