Christopher Scott Thomas

December 6, 1972 — April 23, 2022

Christopher “Scott” Thomas, also known as “Snapper,” passed away on April 23, 2022 at the age of 49. A lifelong resident of Oconee County, he was a son of Jerry Thomas and the late Mary Jean Stephens. Scott was a 1991 graduate of Oconee County High School and was employed with CertainTeed. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Georgia Bulldawgs. Scott had a heart of gold and a smile that was contagious. He was the type of person that if you ever met him, you would never forget him. He loved his friends and family, especially his three children.

In addition to his father, Scott is survived by his three children: Kimberly Phelps, Christopher Gresham, and Caitlyn Thomas; one sister, Kimberly Johnson; and two nieces, Olivia and Presley Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West, Watkinsville, with pastor Rob Bray officiating. The family will receive friends the evening before on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
