Christopher Aaron Cook, 32, of Athens, GA, died on April 11, 2023. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Charles Hubert Cook of St. Helena Island, SC, and Beth Croker Cook of Flowery Branch, GA. He was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech and worked as a consultant in information technology.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Dr. Franklin Roosevelt Croker, of Marietta, GA; his uncle, Kenneth Steve Croker, of Norcross, GA; and his paternal grandfather, Charles Ronald Cook, of Lanett, AL. He is survived by his parents, his wife Jenna Dundore Cook, of Athens, GA; their soon-to-be-born son, Charles Spencer Cook; his maternal grandmother Carolyn Roquemore Croker, of Marietta, GA; and his paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Brazell Cook, of Beaufort, SC.
It was uncommon to see Chris without his four-legged companion Beau by his side. His love for dogs was only soon to be challenged by his own excitement for becoming a dad to Charlie. He was a life-long blues music fan that enjoyed attending concerts by blues guitar artists whenever possible. There can be no doubt that Stevie Ray Vaughan was his favorite, as he’d learned the words to a couple of his songs before the age of 3. Later in life he developed a keen interest in sampling various styles of beer at craft breweries.
In recognition of these elements of his life, a private memorial will take place in Austin, TX, after Charlie’s birth. A public celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Terrapin Brewing in Athens, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org) in support of our nation’s Gold Star and fallen first responder families, as well as catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
