Christina Elizabeth (Schrot) Badura

Christina Elizabeth Schrot Badura, 83, of Watkinsville, died on Monday, October 23, 2023.

The daughter of the late Henry Gustav Schrot and Alma Christina Wittig Schrot, Tina was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She received a secretarial certificate and worked as secretary until she became a wife and mother, which was her true, lifelong vocation. Tina and her husband Carl moved from New York state to Watkinsville, GA in 1995 and were members  of Faith Presbyterian Church.

Tina was not only a good mother but also a good and supportive friend, especially to her children. She was a foodie who loved to cook and collect recipes; she cooked for herself until her final hospitalization. All through her life she was a crafter who always had a project going in any field from sewing to making her own Christmas ornaments. She also had a green thumb and could make any houseplant thrive. Her family fondly remembers her as a great storyteller with an almost photographic memory for history, especially stories of her family from her long and interesting life.

Along with her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Carl.

Tina is survived by her four children: Carolyn (Jim) Hoobler, Carl Henry Badura, Christopher William (Amy) Badura, and Curt (Mariah) Badura; grandchildren: Joshua (Hannah) Hoobler, Jimmy (Kaley) Hoobler, Josiah Hoobler, Luke Badura, Carli Badura, and Cole Badura; great-grandchildren: Sophia Hoobler, Titus Hoobler, Malachi Hoobler, Aletheia Hoobler, and Jamie Kay Hoobler; and her brother, Henry "Hank" Schrot.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27 at Lord and Stephens, West Chapel at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toccoa City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
