Charlie Thomas Tucker, 78, died November 26, 2006.
A native of Oglethorpe County, GA, he was a son of the late Charlie M. and Estelle Stewart Tucker. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Wayne Tucker and two sisters, Sara White and Curtis Rountree. He was a retired electrician and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Tucker was an active member of AmVets Post #10, as well as the American Legion, Lexington, GA.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Tucker; two daughters, Nancy Griffiths of Winterville and Deborah Boney of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Ed Spivey and Darlene and Billy Aiken, all of Hull; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Geraldine Tucker of Athens; three grandchildren, Brent and Leigh Griffiths of Vesta Community and their children, Elisse and Emilee, Braiden and Jenni Griffiths of Newnan and their children, Bryce and Jayden, and John C. Boney, III of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of AmVets Post #10.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
