Charles "Andy" Edward Anderson, Sr.

Charles Edward “Andy” Anderson, Sr., 82, of Havelock, NC, husband of 62 years to Laura Jean Seagraves Anderson, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Von Hawkins Anderson and Rosie Lee Gabriel Anderson. At 17 years old, Andy joined the US Marine Corps and served his country for 21 years and retired from the Air Wing. Following retirement, he continued working as a government contractor. Andy was very involved in the City of Havelock Parks and Recreation Department and was instrumental in bringing Pop Warner Youth Sports to the area.  He served as regional Director of the Mid South Regional for Pop Warner Sports and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Havelock, NC.  Survivors in addition to his wife include three children: Catherine Terrell, Loretta (Terry Jones) Edwards and Charles Edward Anderson, Jr.; siblings: Ray Anderson, Callie Krause, Brenda Palmer, Patsy Chastain and Shirley Billue; grandchildren: Joshua Charles Solomon, Jason Thomas Solomon, Christopher Allen (Sierra) Edwards; great grandson: Ryker Solomon and his furbaby, Dixie AKA Big Girl. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
