Athens - Charles William Norton, 69, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Jackson County , he was the son of the late Jewell Norton and Beatrice Crawford Edwards. Charles retired from Pepsi Bottling Company after 35 years as General Manager. He was a member of Watkinsville Memorial Baptist Church and longtime member of the Athens Rotary Club.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Chris and Shana Norton of Athens ; step children and their spouses: Suzanne and Scott Goldwire of Panama City Beach , FL , Robert and Sheila Coffeen of Winterville; brothers: Harry Norton, James Edwards; sister: Linda Hardigree; grandchildren: Sawyer David Norton, Elizabeth Goldwire, Courtney and Davis Coffeen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Watkinsville City Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Watkinsville Memorial Baptist Church , P.O. Box 603 , Watkinsville , GA 30677 .
