Charles Jefferson Morgan

Our beloved father, Charles Jefferson Morgan, 85, of Danielsville, GA, passed away on July 15, 2024.

He was born on April 8, 1939 to Thomas Alton Morgan and Selma Lee Morgan (Bridges) in Danielsville, GA. After Charles graduated from Madison County High School in 1957, he joined the United States Air Force and served for 20 years until his retirement as a Tech Sergeant in 1978.

After retiring from the Air Force, he served 34 years as a police officer and sheriff’s deputy for Elbert County, Oglethorpe County, Athens Clarke County, the City of Comer and Royston and retired from Madison County Sheriffs Office.

He leaves behind his children Shelley Garner, Valle’ Armstrong, Tommy (Joelie) Morgan, Terry (Samantha) Morgan and Christy Morgan and his bonus son, Manuel Nunez, brothers, Lelan Morgan and Steve Morgan, grandchildren, Kacia (Kyle) Gross, Matthew (Maria) Jones, Christopher (Megan) Jones, Donny (Cierra) Armstrong, Alexander (Erin) Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Jackson Morgan, Joey Black, and Brianna Morgan and great grandchildren, Dakota, Athena and Kinzie Gross and Vivian Armstrong and Claire and Lucas Jones, .

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecaa Morgan, son Jeffrey Armstrong, sisters, Agnes Bray, Selena McGinnes, bothers; Thomas (Tommy) Morgan Jr., Robert (Bill) Morgan, William (Whimp) Morgan, and Darrel (Pete) Morgan. 

Funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Lord and Stephens Danielsville Chapel. Interment will follow at Anchor Church, Ila, GA. The family will receive friends from 6PM until 8PM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the funeral home.
