Charles Howard Meyer, 84, of Arnoldsville, died December 19, 2016.
A lifelong resident of Arnoldsville, he was a son of the late Charles and Ora Fleming Meyer and preceded in death by brothers, Wallace and Thomas Meyer. He was a 1949 graduate of Arnoldsville High School, a lifelong cotton, soybean, wheat and cattle farmer and antique tractor enthusiast. Mr. Meyer was a member of Cherokee Corner Methodist and Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. A gentle giant and man of few words, he worked hard and lived for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jessie Ash Meyer; children, Kathy (James) Smith and Sharon (Eddie) Hill of Watkinsville, Charles Howard (Lynn) Meyer, Jr and John (Nancy) Meyer of Winterville; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Moon, Andrew Smith, Mathew Hill, Christy Butler, Davis Meyer, Evan Meyer and Erich Meyer and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Revs. Larry Davison and James Ashe officiating. Interment will follow at Arnoldsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
