Charles Martin

Charles Curtis Martin, Sr., 78, of Danielsville, passed away March 26, 2016. He was the son of the late Alf & Newell Martin and also was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Ball. Mr. Martin moved from the Buford, Georgia, area in 2000. He was retired from General Motors Parts Division as the Health & Safety Representative. Mr. Martin served as District 60 State Representative in Gwinnett County from 1979-1987, was a Buford City Commissioner and School Board chairperson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Lord and Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Dick Huycke and Dr. Jason Danuser officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday March 28, 2016 at Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, 4400 S. Lee St. Buford, GA and Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Martin; sons and daughters, Cassandra "Candye" (Michael) Dailey, Connie (David) Bohanan, Charles "Charley" (Rebecca) Martin, Jr and Jim (Jennifer) Martin; brother and sister, Edd (Brooke) Martin of Boerne, TX and Barbara (Hubert) Hamrick of Jefferson, GA; 12 grandchildren, Michael & Tierney Dailey, Cody Dailey, Ashley Dailey, Joshua Bohanan, Jared Bohanan, Caitlyn Martin, Charles (Chance) Martin, Maisy Martin, Harry Martin, Grace Martin, Luke Martin and Caroline Martin and Five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Ned Berryman and The Grandsons.
Flowers are optional. Memorial donations may be made to Jones Chapel UMC or St. Mary's Hospice House.
