Charles Dennis Hemphill

Charles Dennis Hemphill, 58, died November 1, 2012.
A native and lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of Mary Jeanette Dawkins Hemphill of Stephens and the late Douglas Nash Hemphill, Sr. Mr. Hemphill was a devoted member of Salem Baptist Church. He deeply loved his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 4:00PM at Salem Baptist Church with Revs. Brett Mask and Brody Bearden officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his siblings, Brenda Hemphill Wall, Douglas Nash "Fuzz" Hemphill, Jr. and his friend Annette, and Jill Hemphill Southers. Other survivors include Vicke Hayes (Clay) of Stephens and John Timothy Hayes (Allison); five nieces and nephews, Amy Wall-Lance (Brian), Jason Southers and Jonathan Hemphill, David Wall, Jr. (Selina), Joni Eberhart (Ben); four special great nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ben Eberhart, Brian Lance, David Wall, Jr., Jason Southers, Zack Stevens, Scott Hayes and Jonathan Hemphill.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Salem Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Salem Baptist Church Dennis Hemphill Memorial Fund.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm in the annex of Salem Baptist Church.
