Watkinsville - Charles Thomas Dial, 73, died September 11, 2007.
A native of Oconee County, Ga., he was a son of the late Grady G. and Victoria Christopher Dial. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Dial and Billie Dial; seven sisters, Glenda Dial, Linda Dial, Margie Helen Dial, Sarah Frances Dial, Mary Daniel, Melba Fitzpatrick and Sybil Burton. He was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church and employed at the University of Georgia for over eight years. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 14, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Whitehall Baptist Church, with Revs. Tom Dial and Buford Lockman officiating. Interment will be in High Shoals Holiness Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Carnes Dial; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Carol Dial of Watkinsville and Rev. Tom and Lynn Dial of Colbert; one sister, Anne Dial Scott of Bishop; four grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Ashleigh and John; many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Taylor, Jack Evans, Leon Whitehead, Lindsey Coker, Otis Wallace, Barry Cook, Charles Gee, Johnny Atkins, Jim Brownlee and Carl Hall.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Whitehall Baptist Church.
