Charles H. Cowart, Sr.

Charles Herman Cowart, Sr., 75, of Winterville, Georgia passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, with his family by his side.

Born on March 10, 1948, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Agnes Cowart. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, and he loved his beagles. Most importantly, he thrived on time spent with those he loved the most. Charles was a longtime member of Crawford Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Cowart, daughter Donna (Frank) Whiddon, son Charles, Jr. "Bubba" (Susan) Cowart, grandchildren Richard, Brittany, Morgan and Anna Grace, four great-grandchildren and four siblings.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 11, 2023, 2:00 pm at Crawford Pentecostal Church with Pastor Blake Smith and Bishop Donald Wineinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Colbert City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the church.
