Charles Thomas Callaway

Charles Thomas Callaway, 58, of Winterville, died Saturday, December 13, 2014.
Born in Athens, he was the son of Ruby Nell Lowe Callaway and the late Tommy Lee Callaway. Mr. Callaway was a lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, and was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School. He formerly served as the Commander of Sons of American Legion Post 123 Lexington for six years. Mr. Callaway taught at Athens Technical College for two years, where he also started the Machine and Tool Technical Program.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Allison; one son, Cody Allen Callaway and his wife, Kelli, of Winterville; step-son, Evan Michael Duecker, of Winterville; one sister, Connie Callaway Fuller and her husband, Stan, of Winterville; one niece, Tommi Fuller, of Winterville; mother-in-law, Barbara Boggs, of Crawford, and many extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 1 PM at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Jason Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
