Chad Avery Ruark

November 30, 1973 — February 24, 2016

Chad Ruark, 42, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016. He was born in Athens, Georgia, to Carol Davis Ruark and the late Marvin James Ruark. Chad was an Oconee County native with an avid love for baseball. At a young age he developed the skill of pitching, and as a left hander, he was fierce on the mound. He played through high school and college and he loved the fact both of his children also shared his passion for the game. He worked in the family business as a framer most of his life and he took great pride in building homes for families in his community and surrounding areas. In addition to his mother, survivors include his children: Taylor Ruark and Logan Ruark of Watkinsville; siblings: Ricky Brewer (Suzanne) of Gainesville, Jay Ruark (Bettie) of Waynesville, MO, Paul Ruark (Tracie) of Homer, Scottie Ruark of Winder, Chris Ruark (Tanya) of Maxey, Ernie Ruark (Jennifer), and Elizabeth Anglin all of Watkinsville as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephewss and cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6 to 8 at Lord & Stephens West. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11AM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens. Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
