Celia Faye (Bell) Wortham

Celia Faye Bell Wortham, 76, wife of 56 years to Steve Wortham, died on Monday, August 21, 2023. Born in Athens, GA she was the daughter of the late Harry Cecil Bell and Mary Flanagan Bell Collins. Celia was a lifelong resident of Oconee County, a 1965 graduate of Oconee County High School and member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She retired from the University of Georgia in 2011 as Testing Coordinator at the Independent and Distant Learning Department.  Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters: Kim Wortham, Kelly (Robert) Gannon, Kristi (Vincent) Catalfamo; grandchildren: Kiley (Chelsey) Gannon, Justin (Missy) Gannon, Carter Wortham and Finn Catalfamo, one great granddaughter, Sophia Gannon and one great granddaughter on the way, Adeline Faye Gannon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 3PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Ray Finger and Rev. Mark Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the funeral home.
