Cecil Edward Ferguson, 80, died October 20, 2011.
A native of Athens, GA, he was a son of the late Vester Ferguson and Arris Little Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clairene Williams Ferguson, son, Ralph Terry Ferguson and grandson, William Steven Morris.
Mr. Ferguson was a veteran of the United States Army and United States Navy with service during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated of Ferguson's Grocery before working and retiring from the University of Georgia. He was an avid coin collector and spent over fifteen years as a Little League coach with the recreational league at Satterfield Park.
Graveside services will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 12:00pm at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Rowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
Survivors include four children, Cynthia Gay (Mark) Savage of Watkinsville, Dana (Danny) Morris of Bishop, Kim (Joey) Leverette of Gainesville, GA and Kevin Cecil Ferguson and fiancé, Christy Burson of Auburn, GA; brother, Henry Ferguson of Arnoldsville; nine grandchildren, Andrew Savage, Amanda (Jeremy) Dalton, Alan-Michael Savage, Matthew, Megan and Harrison Morris, Koey, Kara Grace and Charlie Leverette; great grandchild, Amelia Dalton.
The family would like to thank all the Silverleaf staff and Silverleaf hospice for their excellent care over the years.
