Cecelia Rose "Ceil" Halastra

Ceil Rose Halastra, 90, of Athens, died August 20, 2017.

Born in Peckville, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Dronzek Washburn, preceded in death by a brother, George Washburn and the widow of Paul Walter Halastra (2007). Ceil is survived by daughters, Marilou Braswell and Kim Halastra, of Athens; grandchildren, Laci Braswell Nelson (Adam) of Houston, TX and Beau Braswell (Stefanie) of Washington, DC and great grandchildren, Caroline Nelson and Lauren Nelson.
Ceil was a graduate of Philadelphia Nursing School. She was longtime nurse with St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Boling Dubose and Home Health Care. Her heart was dedicated to taking care of people with excellence and love as a nurse and her daughters were her pride and joy.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Catholic Center, University of Georgia, 1344 South Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA. A dessert reception will follow at the home of Marilou, 1471 Franklin Grove Pkwy, Bogart, GA 30622 immediately after the service.
