Cathy Dale Phillips

Cathy Dale Phillips, 68, of Athens, passed away on September 1, 2023. Born on December 15, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Gable and Pearl Miner Gable.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and woman of God. She was a long-time faithful member of Jefferson Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillips; daughter, Alicia Griffith; siblings, Patsy Appleby, Thelma Ricks, JB Mayo, Donnie Gable; brothers-in-law, Billy Phillips, Terry Young.

Survivors include her siblings, Malinda Gable, Darlene Gable, Teresa Jones (Billy), Barbara Young, Wayne Gable (Anita), Janice Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Lord & Stephens, EAST, Athens with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jefferson Pentecostal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the evening prior from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.  Pallbearers include Tyler Newborn, Thad Jones, Blake Gable, Tyler Young, Wesley Jones, Isaiah Pope and honorary pallbearer, Matthew Jones.
