Catherine Ann Cheely

Catherine Ann Cheely, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 60. Catherine brought light and life into the world with her vibrant red hair and charismatic personality. A proud Irish Catholic, she was well-known for her sassy, smart, and fun-loving demeanor that made her the life of any gathering.

As an accomplished accountant and business owner, Catherine had a knack for finances and established a firm that thrived under her guidance. She served as treasurer for the Rotary Club of East Cobb and volunteered at the Wheeler Athletic Association, where she graciously lent her expertise to assist with their finances. Although born a Yankee, she embraced being a Southerner and found her true home in Georgia.  

Catherine is survived by her beloved husband, Jeff Cheely, with whom she shared 15 wonderful years of marriage. The bond they shared was one of soulmates, filled with love and adventure. Catherine is also survived by her father, William R. Burns; two sisters, Rosemary Tricarico (Martin) and Kristina Melvin (Richard); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine A. Burns, as well as her brothers, William R. Burns Jr. and Kevin B. Burns.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, WEST, Watkinsville. Interment will follow at Huff Cemetery.
