Casey Roy Hobbs, 32, of Colbert, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Born in Athens to Charles Anthony Hobbs and Carla Paul, Casey was a lifelong resident of Madison County. He graduated from Athens Technical College and worked as a diesel mechanic and welder and currently worked for Thomas Concrete. All his life, Casey was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and catch critters, and he loved sharing his interests with his son, Charlie. Charlie was Casey's whole world.
Casey was a friend to all, a man with a big heart who was always ready to help others, even when he had little of his own. Casey struggled most of his adult life with addiction, which led him into cycles of despair, homelessness, and rehabilitation. In the last two years of his life, he overcame his demons and experienced a season of peace and healing with his family. His difficult background gave Casey the gift of gratitude. He was always quick to thank God that he had a family who loved and supported him, and he always had compassion for those still has fighting. Now Casey has fought his good fight and finished his course, and he has won forever the battle against addiction.
