Carlton - Carrol Hamilton Paul, 82, died May 4, 2007 at his residence.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Carrol was born September 16, 1924 to the late Howard (Jack) and Mary Holloman Paul. He served his country aboard the USS Neville in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a member and deacon of long standing at Glade Baptist Church. He was also associated with Woodmen of the World and the VFW, Elberton Post. Carrol was also preceded in death by his oldest brother, Maurice Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Capes Paul; his daughter and son in law, Martha Carol and Mike Reynolds of Carlton; four brothers: W.J. Paul, Broughton Paul and Jerry Paul all of Carlton, Joel Paul of Oakwood; three sisters: Valerie Porterfield Spinks of Carlton, Beth Mathews of Lawrenceville, Shirley Foster of Watkinsville, mother in law, Annie Lou Capes and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 4PM at Glade Baptist Church with Revs. George Ormsbee and David Burt officiating. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be; George Holloman, Ben Turner, Allen Reed, A.L. Bailey, Rusty Graham, Gary Capes, Chad Wilkins and Glenn Paul.
