Carolyn Fay Perschka, age 62, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
Fay was born May 14, 1954 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She moved to Athens as a young child where she graduated from Clarke Central High School in 1972. She received a B.S. Degree in Home Economics and a B.S. Degree in Nursing, both from Brenau College, Gainesville, Georgia. She served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Neese/Sanford Volunteer Fire Department and also worked with the Oglethorpe County EMS. She was currently employed with Douglas Machines, Inc., Athens. She was an active member of the Commerce Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had lived in Madison County for a number of years.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents Dale O. and Doris C. Perschka of Madison County and by her grandparents Clarence and Clara Perschka and Floyd and Faye Rapp all of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Gregory D. Perschka and Ann; her brother and sister-in-law Douglas A. Perschka and Kimberly all of Watkinsville. She is also survived by nephews: Nicholas Perschka, Christopher Perschka, and Alex Perschka and his wife Jessica of Watkinsville; by nieces: Jessica Perschka of Watkinsville and Valerie Greene and her husband William of Concord, California.She is also survived by three great-nephews: Avery, Cooper and Conner Perschka and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Services will be private. The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia, 795 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, GA 30607.
