Carolyn W. Nunnally

Carolyn W. Nunnally, 95, of Athens, passed away on December 23, 2023. Born on September 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dewy Williams and Mattie Lou Lee Williams.

Carolyn was a faithful member of Central Presbyterian Church and later, Athens First Baptist Church. She was a Clarke County Educator for several years, master seamstress, handmaking most of her families outfits over the years, and spent her free time giving back to her community as a volunteer at numerous places.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Nunnally; son, George Nunnally, Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol N. Cason, Martha N. Harris (Brooks); grandchildren, Chris Cason (Kathy), Howard Nunnally (Kendall Cathy), Katie Harris (Tony), Josh Roberts, Kayla Elrod; great grandchildren, Kendall Cason, Quinn Paredes, Thelia Dudley, Eli, Kali, Ellie & Eason Elrod, and Ranger and Tucker Roberts.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Athens Humane Society at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road Athens, GA 30606.
