Carolyn Monfort Becker

Carolyn Monfort Becker, 83, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Born in Buena Vista, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Patrick Henry Monfort, Jr. and Ruby Chalkey Monfort. Mrs. Becker was an Executive Secretary to the Board of Tillinghast Corporation and she worked in Atlanta and San Francisco. She retired at Reynolds Plantation and then moved to Athens. Mrs. Becker enjoyed gardening, basketball, golf, music, theatre and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rodney Bernard.

Survivors include her husband, James N. Becker; three sisters, June W. Ferguson, Patricia M. Hines and Willene M. Bush and seven nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bernard-Becker Scholarship Fund at LaGrange College, 601 Broad St, LaGrange, GA 30240.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
