Carolyn Diane (Gunter) Baxter

Carolyn Diane Baxter, 63, wife of 43 years to Billy Joe Baxter, died on January 9, 2023.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late George Alvin Gunter and Mildred Hazel Dellinger Gunter. Mrs. Baxter worked as a substitute teacher at North Oconee High School and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons: Doug (Amy) Baxter, BJ (Kristy) Baxter, George (Jeri) Baxter and Justin (Vanessa Schafer) Baxter; siblings: Larry (Pam) Gunter, Rosa (Freeman) Hall and Ronnie Gunter; grandchildren: Charity, Emma, Wesley, Kami and Jordyn Baxter, Michael Garner, Teri Hogan and Jess Garner and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11AM at Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA with Rev. Irwin Goss officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
