Carole Agnes Meriam

Carole Burroughs Meriam, 72, of McDonough, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. Born in Hazelton, PA, to the late Clyde Alexander and Bobbie Gilbert Burroughs, Carole grew up in Crawford, GA, and graduated from Oglethorpe Co. High School. She attended the University of Georgia, graduating with honors in 1963, and was the President of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. Her career in elementary education spanned many years, primarily within the Dekalb County school system.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Dawson Eavenson of Savannah, GA, Charles Dawson (Susannah) of McDonough, GA, and Melanie Dawson Anderson (Billy) of Knoxville, TN, along with seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Lord and Stephens - East, Athens, GA, with Dr. David Scott Hargrove officiating. Burial will be private.
