Bishop - Mrs. Carol M. Coleman, 93, died July 27, 2006.
A native of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew D. and Mamie Alice Creighton Marable. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, A. Vern and Clair Marable and Roger and Clarice Marable; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jack M. and Al Short, Hazel M. And Hershel Barnett, Miriam M. Turner and Reese Few, and twin sister, Alma M. and Eston Terry.
Mrs. Coleman was a homemaker and caregiver. She worked as a riveter at the Charleston Shipyard, was formerly employed at UGA dry cleaners, and was retired from the Plaza 5 & 10 at Five Points in Athens. Mrs. Coleman was a member of Bishop Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Sunday, July 30, 2006, at 2:00 PM at Oconee Chapel, with Rev. Eric Buffington officiating. Interment was in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Charles Holcomb of Bishop; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Coleman of Winder; grandchildren, Karey and Jim Russell of Winder, Kent and Bethany Holcomb of Bishop, Todd and Tammy Holcomb of Marietta, Ivey and Russell Willoughby of Watkinsville; great grandchildren, Kate and Rob Russell, Taylor Holcomb, Shea and Justin Crow, Aubrie Sedona Holcomb, Raven, Hanna Rose, and Blakely Willoughby.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Bishop Baptist Church Building Fund.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
