Carlton Winstead Keech

Carlton Winstead Keech, 85, of Athens, GA passed away on April 7, 2024. He was the son of the late James Redden Keech and Gladys Windley Keech. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Redden Keech and sister, Jean Shook.

Carlton served in the United States Navy as a medic. He continued his career in the medical field retiring from the Heart Cath Lab at Athens Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Faye Duncan Keech; five children: Frank Keech,  Karen Montgomery,  Stacey Stella (Joel), Stephen Duncan (Joy), and Angie Nunn Jackson (Jim); and one sister: Sylvia Ratcliffe.

Being Papa Carl to his grandchildren was a role he relished.  He is survived by his grandchildren: Maggie Nicholson (Nick), Matthew Jackson (Megan), Tessa Thompson, Landon Montgomery, Ian Montgomery, and Kianna Stella.  Great-grandchildren: Hailey, Lexi, Barrett, and Baker.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
