Carl Donald Searcy Jr

Don Searcy, 64, of Athens, GA passed away on March 18th, 2016 from complications due to pulmonary issues.
Born on September 30th, 1951, he was raised in Valdese, NC by his father Donald Sr. and his mother, the late Virginia Searcy.
Don is survived by his son Russell of Virginia Beach, his sister Dianne of Valdese, NC and his fiancé Nancy Robertson of Athens, GA.
He graduated from East Carolina University in 1973 with a degree in Business. He worked for the RLI Corporation for over 25 years as a Sales Executive in the Surety Division.
Don was a loving father and his family and friends will always remember him as a passionate, giving man who loved to travel and enjoy life.
A service is scheduled for 4 PM on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at the Tuckston United Methodist Church. The ceremony will be officiated by Dr. James Mooneyhan, Senior Pastor and Reverend Wiley Carney.
A visitation with the family will be held at 3 PM prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don's life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Burke United Christian Ministries at 305 B West Union St, Morganton, NC 28655.
