Carl Werner Badura, 84, of Watkinsville, died on Friday, August 12, 2022.
The son of the late Carl O. Badura and Herta Goetze Badura, Carl was born in Long Island and raised in Yonkers, NY. He worked in information technology until his retirement. Carl and his wife Christina moved to Watkinsville, GA in 1995 and quickly called Georgia home. They are members of Faith Presbyterian Church. Carl was a quick wit with a big sense of humor who loved to tell jokes, especially bad ones. He was also a man of simple pleasures who loved nothing more than Hershey’s chocolate bars, vanilla ice cream, and plain cheese pizza. He wrote that he wanted to be remembered as a “happy, joyful, loving, and forgiving individual.” Carl was devoted to his family and to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Christina Schrot Badura; their four children: Carolyn (Jim) Hoobler, Carl Henry Badura, Christopher William (Amy) Badura, and Curt (Mariah) Badura; grandchildren: Joshua (Hannah) Hoobler, Jimmy (Kaley) Hoobler, Josiah Hoobler, Luke Badura, Carli Badura, and Cole Badura; great-grandchildren: Sophia Hoobler, Titus Hoobler, Malachi Hoobler, and Aletheia Hoobler; and sister Brenda Dowd.
