Calvin P. Esco, age 79, passed away at Athens Regional Medical Center on October 18, 2013.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was born on December 31, 1933. He was the son of the late Lillie Belle Norman and Prince A. Esco and was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Calvin Esco, daughter, Tammy Rachel Esco and sister, Evelyn Bryan.
Mr. Esco attended Oglethorpe County High School, the University of Georgia and graduated from Athens Technical College. He served in the United States Air Force and Army Reserves. He was a member of Meadow Baptist Church, John H. Jones Masonic Lodge #348, IBEW Local #613 and NECA.
He was one of the founders of C&M Electrical Contractors, C&M Industrial Mechanical Contractors, C&M Piping Solutions and Esco Rental.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Mary Lee Porterfield Esco; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lucia Esco; grandchildren, Cortney Esco and Cody Esco.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Meadow Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Sarna officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Cemetery.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Meadow Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Cody Esco, Lee Porterfield, Dale Johnson, Mark Porterfield, Matt, Mitch and Michael Porterfield, Tony and Brad Bryan and Steve Livesay. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan, Andrew, Connor and Mason Porterfield.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
